Step 1: The Electrical Audit

Electrical bills and penalties drain bottom lines.  To find out what your guaranteed improvement will be with the PowerKureTM System, an audit is scheduled in order to collect electrical power quality information from your facility.  We're concerned with voltage, current, harmonics, power factor, power usage, etc. and will want a copy of your electrical bills for previous months.

When fees for an audit are warranted, they are discussed up front.

The Office of Energy Efficiency of Natural Resources Canada offers several programs and incentives to encourage industrial, commercial and institutional facilities to undertake energy efficiency and power quality projects.

Step 2: Your Proposal

The audit, done by a licensed electrician, reveals load quality, identifies the quantity and cost of the components needed to treat the load.  The data is analyzed and a comprehensive written proposal is prepared.  It includes analysis of your current power quality, with predicted results represented numerically and graphically after installation of your PowerKureTM System.  A written guarantee of electrical savings from 3% to 6% - with paybacks beginning usually in 24 months or less in included.  Actual savings will vary from 3% to 18%.

Step 3: Canadian Custom Design and Fabrication

An authorized licensed electrician performs a link analysis to provide a more detailed analysis to verify original measurements, pinpoint further savings and determine the intricacies of your installation (breakers/disconnects, cables, and conduit sizes).

The link analysis is similar to a load flow. Measurements are taken on the secondary load side of the main transformer, on the common buss and each subsequent feeder downstream of the main distribution. This will allow us to determine the optimal placement of the required components, placing some components closer to the individual problem loads.

Step 4: Installation

PowerKureTM's authorized licensed electrician, or the customer's electrician installs the required switchgear, breakers, disconnects, cables, etc. PowerKureTM will assist the electrician with the placement of the actual PowerKureTM unit or install it for you.  Costs are itemized in your proposal.   Once installed, PowerKureTM will then measure the load and tune the PowerKureTM equipment for optimal performance.  The effectiveness of the system is measured periodically after installation to insure peak performance.
